Wood-Mizer extends the blade spectrum
Wood-Mizer is the only manufacturer to produce both sawmills and blades
Wood-Mizer produces three types of blades: DoubleHard, SilverTip and the stellite-tipped RazorTip.
The main difference between DoubleHard and SilverTip is the type of steel used. For DoubleHard, Wood-Mizer uses a unique, high quality steel, while SilverTip is made from standard carbon steel and is designed specifically for the pallet industry. Due to the fact that Wood-Mizer produces large quantities of blades – 4,500,000 metres in 2012 alone – Wood-Mizer is able to negotiate low prices and pass those savings on to the consumer.
Wood-Mizer hardens, sharpens, sets, and welds each blade in-house, ensuring that their blades meet their stringent quality standards and arrive to the customer ready to saw.
Wood-Mizer’s selection of blades is quite extensive, enabling any sawyer to find the right blade for his specific sawing needs.
Wood-Mizer blades are produced in 5 variants of tooth profiles:
10/30 – the most popular profile that is designed for soft and hard woods
13/29 – this profile is specially designed for soft wood cutting and it enables faster sawing
9/29 – is for hardwood and frozen logs
4/32 – the best profile for extremely hard woods and dried timber
7/34 – this profile cuts tropical species as well as wood with high silica content
Soon Wood-Mizer starts the production of Bi-Metal blades.
