Wood-Mizer designs its first wide band sawmill
At Ligna 2013 in Hannover, Wood-Mizer unveiled a prototype of a new type of sawmill that will be introduced in 2014. This heavy duty machine was well received, especially by representatives of companies that require wide blades to maintain their production levels.
According to Wood-Mizer, the project was developed in cooperation with a well-known and highly respected wide band sawmill manufacturer in order to offer a product to customers around the world.
Yet unnamed, this mill runs a 90mm (3.5") band blade, and can cut a 900mm (36") log in half. Bed capacity is rated at 4 tons. The operator controls are positioned at the end of the mill with the head sawing towards the operator.
The prototype of the first Wood-Mizer wide band sawmill got a lot of interest among the Ligna visitors.
