ARB Show, Cirencester, Gloucestershire, UK, Friday 10 – Saturday 11 June 2011
The ARB Show in the Gloucestershire town of Cirencester, is the UK's longest running dedicated arboricultural sector trade fair and the biggest annual gathering of practical arborists. It is not generally regarded as a public event – its visitors come to discover and to buy latest arboricultural kit.
Wood-Mizer demonstrates affordable and sustainable timber processing at the ARB show in the form of narrow band sawmills which produce less sawdust and generally, an extra board from each log. These relatively small mills are often chosen by tree surgeons as means to a more fulfilling service. The two models showing their paces are a small, petrol driven model LT15 and a mid-range ‘workhorse’, diesel powered LT40. The machines make processing timber for re-sale a relatively straightforward diversification. The ‘kerf’, a term for the thickness of the cut or material removed by the saw, is the key to their success. Small kerf also requires less horsepower and slashes fuel consumption.
